Recently I took another journey to what I call the perfect vacation Matrix: Cabo San Lucas, San Jose del Cabo and La Paz. All three offer luxury, history and adventure and all three areas are easily accessible from one airport (SJD).
If you long for adventure during the day and luxury at night , this is your place. How about spending lazy days poolside in resorts bathed by the shimmering sun and lapped by the blue Pacific or the shimmering Sea of Cortez?

The Mexican Baja is the place where the sun sets in every imaginable colour, the stars illuminate romantic strolls on endless beaches and the sounds of crashing waves drown out your worries.

So many people avert Cabo and the Baja for fear that the water is unswimmable but there are many places to jump in the ocean, swim with fish and see coral reefs.

San Jose del Cabo is an historical centre with plenty of shopping and amazing restaurants. San Jose is the area that is closest to the airport and features a plethora of resorts nearby.

La Paz is a beautiful city located along the gorgeous blue waters and white sand beaches of the Sea of Cortez. Now only a 2 hour drive from Cabo, La Paz is an easy jumping off point for underwater adventures and exploring beaches and bays seemingly untouched even today.
No trip to Cabo is complete without a boat trip to the arches to explore the beaches and bays that will have you in awe of what nature can create.

Cabo and the Baja experience relatively lesser humidity which allows you to leave open your doors and windows inviting in the refreshing breeze off the Pacific.
Cabo San Lucas has the most premier resorts, with every imaginable luxury required to detox from life.

I recently stayed at the Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos, a glorious 5 star property only 15 minutes from the airport. Check in was inspiring to say the least, being handed Mescal and Mango daquiries while I looked out to the bright blue Pacific ocean. My vacation started from that moment onwards and didn’t end for my entire stay.

The Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos offers all the luxuries for the perfect vacation, both for families and adults seeking a refuge from the Canadian winter: 24 hour rooms service, sprawling pools, kids club, large and inviting suites and an endless beach to walk for hours.

I predict Cabo San Lucas to become the next hottest spot in Mexico. With newer resorts opening up and more airlines servicing the destination with direct flights, there will be an increasing demand for the benefits of this quick flight destination.
Stay tuned this month for another report from Cabo. I’m heading back in 2 weeks to check out more resorts and new hot spots.
