Huatulco, Mexico is an absolutely incredible destination.

With the best beaches, most swimmable water on the Pacific side, stunning sun sets & rises, beautiful bays, dramatic scenery and most reliable weather, it is the best destination in Mexico.

For those planning a destination wedding, I give Huatulco top marks. Part of the challenge with destination weddings, particularly in the Caribbean & Mayan Rivera, is that there always needs to be a rainy day ‘B” plan. Sometimes, an hour from the ceremony a storm can roll in and the entire wedding has to be rushed indoors. In Huatulco, you are almost always guaranteed your dream beach ceremony with absolutely stunning sunsets over the Pacific. With an average of 7 days of rain a year, Huatulco has the warmest, driest and most reliable weather for planning outdoor ceremonies.

It is often overlooked as well, as a viable option for a wedding, but there are so many reasons to choose Huatulco to get married:

Another attractive bonus for Huatulco is the direct flights offered from most major gateways in Canada, which usually depart and arrive on the same days (Tuesdays or Fridays) from November to May of each year. The ability to have your friends and family from across Canada join each other on the same days means you can maximize your time at the resort together. Another nice bonus: the airport is small and efficient and the resorts no more than 30 minutes away from landing.

The best part of Huatulco is that it still feels untouched. The culture, people and beaches have been kept intact because Huatulco has remained off the beat and track of the masses. It shows in every part of the destination. It is the cleanest, friendliest and most culturally unique destination I have visited yet. I fell in love with Huatulco instantly.

I was able to spend 7 nights at the Secrets Huatulco, an absolutely stunning adult only 5 star. All Jr. Suites have ocean views, the food was incredible and the drinks & food top notch.
